Course content
Lectures: 1) Spine diseases (inflammation, tumor, herniation, injury) 2) Brain tumors 3) Diseases of veins (varicose veins, phlebothrombosis, thrombophlebitis), arterial disease (ICHDK, aneurysm, arterial reconstruction), amputation and burns 4) Thyroid disease (inflammation, tumor, autoimmunity, dysfunction); laryngectomy (laryngectomy) 5) General characteristics of transplantation (legislation, organ harvesting), heart and lung transplantation 6) Transplantation of abdominal and other organs (kidney, liver, pancreas, intestine, uterus) 7) Urolithiasis, prostate disease (inflammation, tumor), other diseases in urology (hydrocele, testicular torsion, fimoza, condylomata) Exercises: 1) Nursing process in a patient with spine disease 2) Nursing process in a patient with venous and artery disease 3) Nursing process in a patient with burn trauma 4) Nursing process in a patient after total laryngectomy and strumectomy 5) Nursing process in a patient with urolithiasis 6) Nursing process in a patient with urological disease 7) Nursing process in a patient after kidney transplantation

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce surgery, clinical states and illnesses in branches of surgery, realisation of nursing process in individual surgery illnesses. The subject is constructed as theoretical-practical whole.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test

Classified credit: - 80% attendance at exercises, - passing the test, - oral examination (medical and nursing part).
