Course content
Lectures: 1) Introduction to abdominal surgery; diseases of the esophagus and stomach. 2) Diseases of the small and large intestine (inflammation, tumor); illness of the mother (inflammation, tumor). 3) NPB: definition of division, basic principles of treatment. 4) Polytrauma: triage basic principles of treatment; injury to parenchymatous organs. 5) Chest traumatology (pneumothorax, pericardial puncture, drainage, rib fractures). 6) Burn trauma, burns, frostbite, electric shocks. 7) Diseases of the lungs and mediastinum (inflammation, tumor, resection procedures). Exercises: 1) Nursing process in a patient with a disease of the esophagus and stomach. 2) Nursing process in a patient with colon cancer. 3) Nursing process in a patient with NPB. 4) Nursing process in a patient with polytrauma. 5) Nursing process and emergency care for a patient with pneumothorax. 6) Nursing process for a patient with thermal damage. 7) Nursing process in a lung surgery patient.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to familiarize with the issues of the field of surgery, clinical conditions and diseases in surgical fields, implementation of the nursing process for individual surgical diseases. The subject is designed as theoretical and practical whole.
