Course content
Lectures: 1) Pneumology: inflammatory airway disease, TB, COPD 2) Pneumology: bronchial asthma tumors, pneumoconiosis, hyperventilation syndrome, mediastinum and pleura 3) Diabetology: type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus 4) Diabetology: acute conditions in diabetes mellitus 5) Nephrology: inflammatory urinary tract disease, urolithiasis, acute and chronic renal failure, dialysis-transplantation program 6) Hematology: red blood cell disease 7) Hematology: white blood cell diseases and other blood diseases Exercises: 1) Nursing process in a patient with inflammatory airway disease, COPD 2) Nursing process in patients with asthma bronchiale 3) Nursing process in a patient with diabetes mellitus 4) Nursing process in patients with inflammatory diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract 5) Nursing process with acute and chronic renal failure, nursing process in patients in dialysis-transplantation program 6) Nursing process in patients with red blood cell diseases 7) Nursing process in patients with white blood cell diseases

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the problems of internal disciplines and to implement the nursing process in individual internal diseases. The theoretical-practical course is part of the complex of courses in clinical nursing in internal medicine. It introduces differences in treatment and nursing care of patients in internal disciplines, specifies the nursing process in internal disciplines.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test

Classified credit: - 80% attendance at exercises, - passing the test, - oral examination (medical and nursing part).
