Course content
Lectures: 1) Cardiology and angiology: heart failure, ischemic heart disease, arrhythmia, thromboembolism. 2) Pneumology: respiratory failure, COPD, asthma, tumors, lung infections, chronic diseases. 3) Gastroenterology: bleeding into the GIT, pancreatitis, liver disease, IBD, tumors. 4) Nephrology and rheumatology: renal failure, Tx issues, basic specifics of rheumatology. 5) Endocrinology and metabolism: Diabetes mellitus, thyreopathy, Pickwick, obesity, nutrition. 6) Infections, hematology: infections and their specifics (in general and organ-wise), basics of hematology. 7) Geriatric notes: specifics of the geriatric population. Exercises: 1) Basics of ECG, care of a patient with heart and vascular disease. 2) Basics of ECG, care of a patient with a respiratory disease. 3) Basics of ECG, care of a patient with a disease of the gastrointestinal tract. 4) Basics of ECG, care of patients with nephrological and rheumatological diseases. 5) Basics of ECG, care of a patient with endocrine and metabolic disease. 6) Basics of ECG, care of a patient with infection and hematological disease. 7) Basics of ECG, care of the geriatric patient.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to familiarize students with the issues of internal disciplines and the needs of patients in connection with diseases respiratory, circulatory, digestive and uropoietic systems, nutritional and metabolic disorders, endocrine gland diseases, poisoning and infectious diseases. The subject is mainly focused on the provision of urgent care and also on his specifics in the geriatric population.
Students will become familiar with the issues of internal disciplines and the needs of patients in connection with diseases of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive and uropoietic systems, disorders of nutrition and metabolism, diseases of the endocrine glands, poisoning and infectious diseases and the provision of emergency care for the geriatric population.
