Course content
Lectures: 1) Deteriorating patient - ABCDE algorithm. 2) Possibilities and specifics of securing airways and access to the bloodstream. 3) Basic and advanced CPR for adults. 4) Basic and advanced CPR for children and newborns. 5) Cardiac arrest in specific situations. 6) Comprehensive post-resuscitation care, ECPR, ethics. 7) Annotated case studies. Exercises: 1) ABCDE algorithm. 2) Adult CPR. 3) CPR of children and newborns. 4) DC + approaches to the vascular bed.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to deepen the knowledge and improve the skills of students, acquired especially in Nursing subjects procedures and First Aid, with a focus on special nursing procedures in pre-hospital, anesthesia and intensive care roast. The subject is designed as an introduction to the issue of acute medicine, it is primarily an approach to the worsening patient and solving acute conditions, the issue of extended cardiopulmonary resuscitation of adults and children. Next about coping basic techniques to ensure access to the vascular bed and securing the airways. It thus provides the necessary basic curriculum for the other two follow-up subjects (Emergency care and nursing procedures in anesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care 2 and Emergency care and nursing procedures in anesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care 3).
After completing the course, the student: - can systematically approach an acutely deteriorating patient according to the ABCDE algorithm, - can provide extended emergency resuscitation for children and adults, - knows the nursing procedures associated with ensuring access to the vascular bed and airways.
