Course content
|
Lectures: 1) Communication and teamwork, non-technical skills, CRM. 2) Shock - definition, classification, examples, anaphylaxis, hemorrhagic shock and life-threatening bleeding. 3) Comprehensive nursing care of a patient with impaired consciousness, CC injury, basics of neurointensive care, death brain, the issue of organ donation. 4) Specifics of emergency care for a patient with acute respiratory failure. 5) Specifics of emergency care for a patient with acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, pharmacological and circulatory support equipment. 6) Urgent care of a patient with sepsis, septic shock, non-infectious inflammatory syndrome (SIRS), multi-organ failure. 7) Disorders of the internal environment in the intensive care unit, urgent care of a patient with acute renal failure, the issue of nutrition. Exercises: 1) Practical application of selected case studies using the SimMan patient simulator and a situational scenario. 2) Practical application of selected case studies using the SimMan patient simulator and a situational scenario. 3) Practical application of selected case studies using the SimMan patient simulator and a situational scenario. 4) Practical application of selected case studies using the SimMan patient simulator and a situational scenario.

|
The subject logically follows on from the subjects First aid, Emergency care and nursing procedures in anesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care 1,2. The content of the subject is mainly the basic issues of urgent care and nursing procedures in the department of acute/intensive medicine in medical facilities for patients in critical condition or with specific diagnoses. The content of the practical exercises of the subject is already a comprehensive solution of model situations and acute conditions in the form of simulation teaching.
After completing the course, the student: - knows the issues of nursing care for patients with organ failure and specific diagnoses in an intensive care bed, - following the subjects Urgent care and nursing procedures in anaesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care 1,2 the student can comprehensively solve acute or life-threatening conditions in the context of pre-hospital, anesthesiology and resuscitation care.
