Course content
Lectures: 1) Resuscitation in childhood. 2) Treatment of pain in children. 3) Treatment of the newborn after birth, resuscitation of the newborn, cannulation, transport. 4) Allergy, anaphylaxis, diagnosis and treatment procedures. 5) Disorders of consciousness, GCS, differential diagnosis of disorders of consciousness. 6) Convulsions in PNP, differential diagnosis, therapeutic procedures, acute symptomatic seizures. 7) Syncope, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, epilepsy, anxiety attacks. Exercises: 1) Basic anatomical-physiological differences. Pediatric patient monitoring. Transport of a pediatric patient. 2) Nursing care for a pediatric patient with pain. Securing the airway of the pediatric patient. 3) Ensuring vascular access in a pediatric patient. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation child and newborn. 4) Specifics of pharmacotherapy in childhood. Repetition.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with pediatric issues in the context of acute conditions and to implement the nursing process for individual diseases. The theoretical-practical subject is designed to familiarize students with the specifics of emergency care provided to pediatric patients with an emphasis on practical use.
Students will become familiar with the specifics of providing emergency care to a pediatric patient, with pediatric issues within acute conditions and the implementation of the nursing process for individual diseases.
