Course content
|
Lectures: 1) General psychopathology (disorders of perception, thinking, emotions, consciousness). 2) Organization of psychiatric care. 3) Therapy and nursing care in psychiatry. 4) Acute conditions in psychiatry. 5) Affective disorders. 6) Anxiety (neurotic) disorders. 7) Eating disorders. 8) Sleep disorders. 9) Psychoses (schizophrenia and delusional disorders). 10) Organic mental disorders. 11) Mental disorders in childhood and adolescence. 12) Personality disorders. 13) Psychotherapy. 14) Sexual dysfunction and paraphilia. 15) Dependence on psychoactive substances. Exercises: 1) Principles of nursing care in psychiatry. 2) Specifics of communication with a patient with an affective disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety patient. 3) Access to a restless or aggressive patient with a psychiatric diagnosis. 4) Approach to the suicidal patient. 5) Management of acute psychiatric conditions in pre-hospital care.

|
The aim of the subject is to familiarize with the issues and specifics of nursing care for patients with acute mental disorders. The theoretical-practical subject is part of the complex of subjects from clinical nursing. Familiarizes with emergency conditions in psychiatry and differences in treatment and nursing care for patients with these mental disorders. The subject provides basic knowledge of psychiatry. It is conceived as a theoretical - practical unit from the complex of subjects of clinical nursing. Introduces clinical conditions, diseases and psychological disorders. Based on findings from psychiatry, it enables the application of highly qualified care for patients with psychiatric problems through individualized nursing care, a multidisciplinary approach to care for mental health and psychiatric conditions. The aim of the course is to introduce the theoretical and practical issues of psychiatry and to integrate the acquired knowledge into nursing care, to emphasize the clinic, diagnostic and therapeutic methods, to understand the peculiarities of the field of psychiatry.
The student can define the field of psychiatry, list basic psychiatric diseases, including their pathology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, clinic and treatment, and can define the nursing process for individual psychiatric diseases.
