Lectures: 1) Standard nursing unit and specifics of the intensive care unit - reception, translation and discharge of the patient, visit; characteristics of work in basic departments, medical documentation; antisepsis, asepsis, barrier care system, equipment care, decontamination, disinfection, sterilization. 2) Nursing process during patient hygiene, patient handling, patient positioning; nursing assessment patient history - professional introduction to the issue of monitoring physiological functions. 3) Nursing process in ensuring hydration and nutrition of the patient - general overview; nursing process in voiding urine and stool. 4) Nursing process during the administration and application of drugs, oxygen therapy; professional introduction to the issue of infusion therapy. 5) The nursing process in ensuring the collection of biological material. Exercises: 1) Treatment unit, bed and its equipment, visits, specifics of intensive care unit equipment; nursing process during the reception, translation and discharge of the patient with an emphasis on the specifics of patient transfer, medical documentation. 2) Antisepsis, asepsis, barrier system of care, care of aids, decontamination, disinfection, sterilization; nursing the process of securing the patient's position, medical rehabilitation. 3) Nursing process in ensuring patient hygiene; nursing process for a patient in the care of pressure ulcers; nursing patient assessment - medical history, physical examination - monitoring and pathophysiological deviations of body temperature, breathing, body blood pressure and pulse, monitoring consciousness. 4) Nursing care in ensuring the patient's nutrition and hydration, principles of food and fluid administration, sipping; introduction nasogastric tubes, assistance in the introduction of a nasojejunal tube, nursing care of a patient with enteral nutrition. 5) Nursing care during the provision of urine emptying, catheterization, urine collection. 6) Nursing care in ensuring stool emptying; stool sampling, enema. 7) Nursing process for the application of drugs orally, into the nose, into the ear, into the eye, per rectum, per vaginam. 8) Nursing process when administering drugs into the respiratory tract; oxygen therapy, inhalation techniques; nursing process when applying drugs intradermally, subcutaneously and intramuscularly. 9) Nursing process when administering drugs intravenously; nursing process when securing a peripheral venous catheter, central venous catheter care; infusion therapy. 10) Nursing process for taking samples of biological material (blood samples, smears, swabs, sputum, vomitus).
