Course content
Courses will be divided into several thematic sections: 1. Biosignals 2. Intensive care equipment 3. Infusion devices 4. Vital function monitoring 5. Central monitoring 6. Telemonitoring 7. Holter monitoring 8. ECG 9. Electrophysiology 10. Electrostimulation 11. Pacemakers 12. Defibrillators 13. Artificial lung ventilation, spirometry 14. Metrology

  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Practical education of a student with common medical devices, demonstration of processing and evaluation of biosignals. The student will learn functional principles of different diagnostic devices, try the role of the biomedical technician in performing routine checks and solving the most common faults. The course also includes specialized technical topics of the cardiology field focused on the role of biomedical technicians in the management of remote monitoring, implantable electronic systems, Holter monitoring.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Active participation. Realization of assigned tasks. Presentation of a professional topic. Successful passing of the final test.
