Course content
Lectures: 1) Nursing process, obtaining information, assessment of patient needs 2) Nursing diagnostics, formulation of nursing diagnoses 3) Setting goals, planning nursing care 4) Realization of planned nursing care, documentation 5) Evaluation of nursing care carried out by nurse Exercises: 1) Nursing assessment of patient needs, formulation of questions to obtain information 2) Creation of nursing diagnoses - solving model situations 3) Working with NANDA - diagnostic systems, deducing and processing nursing diagnoses 4) Objectives and expected results of nursing care, implementation of nursing plans 5) Evaluation of results of nursing plans, work with documentation

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 64 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course is an essential part of providing nursing care, including emergency care. It enables to understand the main goal of professional nursing practice, ie to ensure and satisfy the life needs of the patient, family and community, to practice the individual stages of the nursing process (methodology of nursing practice). It introduces classifications of human needs, focuses on reactions, manifestations of unmet needs in healthy, sick, handicapped and dying people.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination, Student's performance analysis, Presentation of artistic and creative activities

Exam: - 80% participation in exercises, - elaboration of (student) nursing documentation according to the model task, - oral exam.
