Course content
Lecture: 1) Definition of rehabilitation, system of rehabilitation care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitation nursing, examination of the patient for the needs of rehabilitation nursing, immobilization syndrome and its prevention, basic overview rehabilitation methodologies. 2) Theory of movement - components of the locomotor system, their description and function, motor control at the peripheral level, principles of motor learning. 3) Motor control at the central level, manifestations of central disorders according to localization, basics of psychomotor development. 4) Back school, principles of correct posture and exercise, prevention of health damage when handling the patient, ergonomics of the work environment. 5) Theoretical foundations of positioning, verticalization and locomotion of the patient, mobility on the bed and their influence on the human organism. 6) Respiratory system, respiratory muscles, respiratory physiotherapy, influence of position on breathing, aids for respiratory rehabilitation. 7) Rehabilitation nursing for individual diagnoses. Exercises: 1) Examination of the patient from the point of view of rehabilitation nursing. 2) Practical implementation of positioning, the most common positioning errors. 3) Mobilization and verticalization of the patient, transfer training, basics of kinesthetic mobilization. 4) Respiratory rehabilitation - examination of respiratory functions from the point of view of rehabilitation nursing, static and dynamic breathing exercises, contact breathing, cough training, autogenous drainage, huffing, aids for respiratory rehabilitation. 5) Exercise as prevention of back pain, practical training of correct standing, sitting. 6) Practical examples based on the "Back School". 7) Recapitulation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issues of rehabilitation and rehabilitation nursing and to learn practical basic rehabilitation techniques in various medical fields. The basis is familiarization with the effect of immobility and inactivity on the human organism and how to prevent these consequences. The subject also includes a basic introduction to the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, physiology and pathophysiology of movement for a better understanding of the principles of rehabilitation techniques.
The student will become familiar with the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, the physiology and pathophysiology of movement, with the issues of rehabilitation and rehabilitation nursing, learn practical basic rehabilitation techniques in various medical fields, learn about the effect of immobility and inactivity on the human organism and how to prevent these consequences.
