Course content
Lectures Surgery: 1) Introduction to surgery: asepsis, antisepsis, disinfection, sterilization, healthcare-associated infections, anesthesia (types of anesthesia, local and general anesthesia), preoperative and postoperative care, postoperative complications 2) Principles of operative surgery, inflammations, treatment of inflammations in surgery; tumors and their treatment in surgery; shock (treatment, prevention, first aid) 3) Burns, polytrauma, breast diseases, thyroid and larynx diseases 4) Surgical issues of gastrointestinal tract diseases (diseases of the esophagus and stomach, small and large intestines, liver and biliary tract, pancreas), sudden abdominal events) 5) Surgical issues of vascular diseases: veins (varicose veins, phlebothrombosis, thrombophlebitis), arteries (ICHDK, aneurysm, reconstructive procedures on arteries), abdominal wall diseases 6) Surgical issues of craniocerebral injuries, diseases of the neck, spine and spinal cord, including tumors Surgical issues of diseases of the chest, lungs and mediastinum; urology (urolithiasis, prostate disease, other diseases in urology) Internal medicine: 1) Introduction to internal medicine, division into subspecialties 2) Respiratory system diseases 3) Cardiovascular system diseases and hematological diseases 4) Gastrointestinal tract diseases 5) Excretory system diseases including dialysis. Endocrine, rheumatological diseases 6) Acid-base and ionic balance disorders

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject acquaints students with selected chapters from individual clinical fields of medicine, namely surgery, traumatology, orthopedics and internal medicine. The course focuses on obtaining basic information on diseases in selected fields to the extent necessary for future radiological assistants.
Students will become familiar with selected chapters from surgery, traumatology, orthopedics and internal medicine and will gain knowledge about diseases in selected fields to the extent necessary for future radiological assistants.
