Course content
Lectures: 1) Subject and objectives of pedagogy, basic concepts of pedagogy and education, pedagogy and its subject of research, basics of learning theory, learning styles, basics of andragogy 2) Learning, motivation, fundamentals of didactics, pedagogical goals in education 3) Teaching strategies, organizational forms of teaching, teaching methods 4) The concept of education, education in non-medical healthcare fields, types of education, principles of correct education, the role of non-medical healthcare workers in education 5) Educational process - overview, data collection (or medical history) of the educator, determination of educational diagnosis 6) Planning, educational goals, educational plan, principles of creating educational plans, presentations, educational maps, information material 7) Implementation of the educational process, the implementation phase of the educational process, evaluation, educational records in practice

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as a theoretical-practical unit. It introduces students to the issue of education and training, in which they will participate in the specific conditions of their practice (in the education of patients and their relatives, in health education of residents, in the preparation of educational events, in the education of health care workers, etc.). The main aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of pedagogical phenomena and processes in nursing practice and to be able to educate patients effectively and to be able to influence them with respect to their developmental and individual peculiarities.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Classified credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - written test (75% success rate).
