Topics for lectures 1) Biological and audio signals: action potential, ECG, EEG, PCG, CP, sound, human voice; spectral analysis 2) LTI FIR and IIR filter design, linear-phase filter, case studies 3) Optimum mean-square-error filters and adaptive filtering using LMS and RLS 4) Audio effects 5) Speech enhancement and echo cancellation 6) Elements of array signal processing 7) Principal component analysis and canonical correlation analysis 8) Blind source separation and independent component analysis 9) Tensor decompositions and their applications in signal processing 10) Elements of compressed sensing 11) Elements of signal processing on graphs and applications on big data Topics for exercises 1) Audio recording, ECG recording, data import in Matlab, visualization 2) Ekvalization of audio signals 3) Artifacts removal by means of LTI and adaptive filtering 4) Removal of drift in ECG data 5) Spectral analysis of EEG 6) QRS detection in ECG 7) Foetal ECG extraction 8) Reverb and Delay effects 9) Chorus, Flanger, Phaser and other modulation effects 10) ECG and EEG decomposition and reconstruction using PCA and ICA 11) Tensor decompositions 12) Big data processing

Activity at the practicals / seminars is required for obtaining the credit. Successful answers to the examination questions are necessary for passing the exam.
