Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is the exploration of word classes (articles, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, pronouns, numerals). Students get acquainted with different approaches to classification and analysis of these word classes. Within each word class attention is paid to current English usage as well as to potential problems connected with it. Where relevant, individual issues are contrasted with Czech.
The comprehension of the differences between various parts of speech (except for verbs) and their individual morphological categories.
