The course serves as an introduction to the history and culture of Canada. Lectures focus on the political, cultural, religious and economic contexts of key historical events that shaped Canadian history. Upon completing the course, students will have a comprehensive knowledge of Canadian history. This historical overview will be supplemented by seminars that will deal with specific texts and documents related to the given periods, which further illustrate the historical contexts offered primarily by lectures.
