Learning outcomes
The course aims to introduce students to the history and culture of the United States. Students should gain a comprehensive overview of American history and its key moments and understand their political, religious, economic and intellectual contexts. The main emphasis is placed on understanding the significance of the dominant historical events that shaped American society into the form we know today. Students will also be introduced to representative literary and non-literary texts that complete the view of the selected periods.
