Tento kurz navazuje na kurz Lingvistika I. Nadále se věnuje popisu anglických zvuků a slov. Hlavním obsahem fonologické části kurzu jsou suprasegmentální rysy anglické výslovnosti (přízvuk, rytmus a intonace) v aplikaci na spojitý řečový projev. Studenti se obeznámí s modifikacemi výslovnosti používanými ve spojitém řečovém projevu. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována rozdílům mezi spojitou řečí v angličtině a češtině a problémům, s nimiž se v této souvislosti studenti angličtiny potýkají. Cílem morfologické části kurzu je podrobné prostudování problematiky sloves a slovesných frází. Studenti jsou obeznámeni se slovesnou konjugací, slovesnými typy, jakož i slovesnými gramatickými kategoriemi (osoba a číslo, způsob/modalita, čas, vid a rod). Dále se v kurzu prozkoumává vztah mezi funkcí a formou a často se provádí srovnání českého slovesného systému s anglickým.

Písemná zkouška, Písemná práce, Test
The course ends with a credit ( a pre-requisit for an exam) and a written exam. To obtain the credit, the student must attend lectures and seminars, a maximum of two absences per each per semester is allowed. If the maximum number of allowed absences is exceeded, the student does not get a credit and as a result is not allowed to sit the exam. Students must be prepared for each seminar. Active participation is continuously assessed by the seminar teacher. The credit is given based on attendance and participation in the seminars. No retakes of the seminar credit are allowed. The exam is a written test covering material from both semesters (phonology and morphology). Three atempt dates will be provided.
