Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on basic notions connected with language changes and the phases of the development of the English language. Students have an opportunity to learn about the processes operating in English at various periods of its development, as well as read extracts from various periods of the language development and compare similarities and differences between the oldest texts and present-day ones.
The knowledge of the gradual change of the English language and the historical events which influenced it.
