Learning outcomes
In this practically oriented course, students will learn biological techniques related to general biology and microbiology.
Prerequisites
Students will acquire practical skills in microscopy, preparation of biological samples, cultivation of microorganisms, and application of biological techniques in teaching.
Assessment methods and criteria
Practical demonstration of acquired skills
In these practical exercises, students will learn how to work with a microscope and how to make various microscopic and microbiological specimens, including various staining and culturing. The students will prepare a report of each exercise. Students will independently study the methodology of preparation of permanent preparations and selected staining (botanical preparations - e.g. cut by stem, pine needle, cut by twig, preparation of permanent preparations of bacteria and yeasts - their staining and media in which the objects are poured).
