Learning outcomes
|
Students will learn about the major groups of cyanobacteria, algae, terrestrial plants, fungi and fungal organisms and their relationships with biotic and abiotic components of the environment. They will understand the phylogeny of plants and fungi.
Students will understand the basic anatomy, morphology, and functions of plants, fungi, and other organisms. They will learn to identify individual species based on their characteristics and their importance in ecosystems.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Combined examination, Test
Students will learn to recognize basic anatomical and morphological features. Characteristics and function of plant organs, tissues, and basic types of inflorescences and fruits. In practical exercises, students will observe on living or permanent material typical representatives of the groups discussed. This will include microscopic observations of cyanobacteria, algae and fungi. For selected plant groups, students will independently study information on their basic characteristics, mode of reproduction, distribution, ecological importance, their classification in the system, and typical or important representatives. A condition for credit is active participation in the exercises and successful completion of the final test (cognitive test). The oral examination is focused on understanding and orientation in the subject as a whole.
