Students will understand basic terms and concepts in the field of didactics of science and biology.
Students will gain an overview of didactic methods for teaching natural science, lesson planning, creating teaching aids, and assessing learning outcomes.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Practical demonstration of acquired skills
Students will get acquainted with the areas of interest of didactics of science, its importance and problems of science education. Students will learn techniques for planning science and biology instruction, setting goals, and selecting effective teaching methods and organizational forms of instruction. Students will learn about teaching aids used in teaching science and biology, classify these aids and assess their usefulness in teaching. Students will gain an overview of didactic methods for teaching natural science, lesson planning, creating teaching aids, and assessing learning outcomes. Continuous assessment of preparation and activity at seminars, evaluation of written summary of basic information and case studies presented in work at seminars (credit). Oral exam focused on the presentation and defense of selected problems of evolutionary theory.
