Introduction and course briefing, seriousness of teaching: System of didactics, didactics of science education, problems in science education, dual goals of science education Teacher personality and communication: teacher's code of ethics, teacher typology, training in basic communication skills Organisation and planning possibilities: RVP ZV, ŠVP, framework curriculum, thematisation of teaching, systematic and project concept of teaching, organisational forms of teaching Learning objectives: cognitive, affective and psychomotor, activating verbs Organisational forms of teaching: lessons, laboratory exercises, project-based learning, excursions, etc. Transmissive teaching methods: uses and risks, examples Activating teaching methods: uses and risks, examples Progress monitoring and assessment: formative, verbal, summative and other assessments Informal activities in science education: formal, informal and non-formal learning, choice of informal activities, nearby non-formal learning organisations Sample activity for science education I. Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge about the didactic possibilities of teaching science at elementary school. Exercises are focused on the actual presentation of teaching management on a specific example and innovative approaches to the didactics of individual topics.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Test
The output of the course is a designed, specified and demonstrated activity for teaching science including a teaching aid. Students modify the output during lessons and can use it in portfolio preparation. Independent work is required. Three knowledge "mastery" tests. Five continuous review assignments and attendance at a face-to-face class are required for the combined studies. For full-time study, active participation in classes with activity presentations is required.
