Learning outcomes
The course focuses on various types of biological assessments and evaluations, which subsequently become important documents in the preparation and approval of various strategies, concepts, projects, and plans at the local, regional, and national levels of government and other organizations. Students will become familiar with the legislative framework of individual assessments, their methodological basis, and practical application. The exercises will focus primarily on the practical acquisition of basic methodological approaches and on discussing problems in the practical application of biota protection within decision-making processes and on preparing their own model assessment as part of a seminar paper.
Learning outcomes: The student will gain an overview of the basic types and methods of biological assessment and their integration into investment preparation processes and societal decision-making. The student will be able to practically navigate relevant European and national legislation, as well as procedures for preparing and presenting expert materials in the context of biodiversity protection. As part of a seminar paper, the student will practically experience the processing of a selected assessment and the method of defending it.
