Learning outcomes
The course will focus on hydrology and hydrochemistry in the context of nature conservation and environmental protection. Lectures will provide students with detailed knowledge of the mechanics, hydraulics, and chemistry of water bodies, while hydrological and hydrochemical calculations will be covered in practical classes. Students will gain relevant non-biological knowledge about the behavior of natural water bodies and their hydrochemical variability. They will understand the complexity of water management, the basics of water treatment, wastewater treatment, watercourse regulation, and state administration in the field of water protection. Part of the exercises will take the form of excursions to waterworks near the university and presentations of student papers on current topics in the field of hydrology and hydrochemistry.
