Studijní aktivity a metody výuky
Samostatná práce studentů (studium textů, literatury, problémové úkoly,výzkum, pisemná práce), Přednáška, Cvičení
Výstupy z učení
The subject will cover the basics of atmospheric physics, meteorology, and climatology. It will also provide an overview of historical and current pollutants and smog situations. In the lectures, students will first be thoroughly acquainted with the essence of atmospheric circulation and its modeling and prediction. During the exercises, they will master related numerical procedures. Another block of lectures will give students a detailed insight into the typology of emissions and methods of monitoring, regulation, and dispersion modeling. Last but not least, students will be introduced to the issues of indoor air pollution, relevant legislation, and state administration in monitoring and protecting the air. The exercises will also include several excursions (automated air quality monitoring stations, laboratories conducting indoor air contamination monitoring, Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, Czech Environmental Inspection) and discussions on IPCC documents and outputs from national and international climatological projects.
Learning Outcomes: Students will master the mentioned topics, learn to work with professional texts, and practice formulating their opinions using professional terminology. Students will become familiar with the basics of the methodology of related calculations, measurements, and monitoring methods.
