Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the position of paleontology in the system of sciences, the origin and methods of fossil preservation, paleoecology, paleobiogeography, geological activity of organisms, biostratigraphy, the systematics and importance of paleontology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Continuous assessment of preparation and participation in seminars; assessment of a written summary of key information and case studies presented during the seminars (credit). An oral examination focusing on the presentation and defence of selected solutions involving the application of geography.
