Course content

1. Basic principles of taxonomy and nomenclature, reasons for the changing position of some representatives in the system of organisms 2. Protozoa - important representatives, parasites, causative agents of food poisoning - characteristics, developmental cycles, in parasites - transmission x protection 3. Flatworms, nematodes, ringworms - basic characteristics and traits, important representatives and their development cycles - intermediate host 4. Ringworms, molluscs, echinoderms - basic characteristics and traits, important representatives and their development cycles - intermediate host 5. Arthropods - knockers, crustaceans - basic characteristics and features, important representatives 6. Arthropods - insects - basic characteristics and signs, medically, veterinary and food important representatives, harmful insects, social insects, parasites 7. Chordata, Vertebrata, fish, fish - basic characteristics and features, important representatives of marine and freshwater fish 8. Amphibians, reptiles - basic characteristics and traits, important representatives 9. Birds - basic characteristics and features, important representatives, domesticated species 10. Mammals - basic characteristics and traits, important representatives, domesticated species 11. Phylogeny of animals - development of individual types of body systems 12. Temperature and its maintenance, function of body fluids, excretion and osmoregulation 13. Physiology of movement, physiology of the digestive system and absorption, physiology of the nervous system, function of body fluids 14. Ethology and ecology of animals, biorhythms, animal protection

Learning outcomes
|
Learn about traditional and molecular methods. To present the historical development of animal classification. Review and current ideas on invertebrate phylogeny. Basic building plans of invertebrate animals. Characteristics, distribution, biology, ecology and practical importance of each group. Characteristics of the stringhoppers. Origin, evolution and relationships. Overview of the system of stringtails with reference to the Central European fauna and phylogenetic evolution. Characteristics of individual groups based on typical representatives. Basics of the ecology and zoogeography of stringtails. Basics of ethology. Biodiversity changes, conservation, reintroduction.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.
