Learning outcomes

The lectures aim at the essential theoretical concepts and notions of thinking about literature and its analyses. Key topics: Fields and branches of the theory of literature. A work of literature as an act of communication. The aesthetic function in the literature. Narratology and versology. The diversity of theoretical and methodological approaches.
Students will master the categories of poetics so that they can apply them as typological parameters of historical poetics in literary history seminars and as analytical categories in synchronic analysis. Knowledge of literary poetics and the development of critical thinking about literature, just like linguistic knowledge, serve as a tool and a prerequisite for the analysis of other media and cultural phenomena. Students will apply the knowledge they have acquired both in their theses and, as future teachers, in the educational process or in cultural activities.
