This one-term course concluded with the grant of a credit changes according to currect circumstances, either according to the focus of the studios' works or according to the guest teachers available. The contents are not repeated; at least one course is offered in each term.

Learning outcomes
|
The course Open Course is designed to strengthen the observation and critical perception of contemporary art and architecture. The content is not repeated, in each semester it is specified according to the current situation. Usually, the course consists of visits to newly built buildings with the participation of the author, or with comments from relevant persons. Art exhibitions with the participation of their author or curator are also attended. In the context of contemporary art, visits to respected institution (Galerie Rudolfinum, NG Prague, Transit Display, FUTURA, etc.) form the backbone of the course. Although the content changes each semester, the structure remains the same: Students are confronted with specific implementations and works of art, which they are then asked to critically assess in their essays. The aim of the course is to deepen and connect information about contemporary art and architecture. An integral part is the effort to develop the students' ability to formulate. Outline of topics: 1. Art category 2. Space and place 3. Spatiality of architecture 4. Contemporary Czech painting 5. Contemporary Czech sculpture 6. Intermedia in contemporary art 7. Truthfulness in architecture 8. Construction and form 9. Local and global aspects of contemporary art 10. Images and simulacra
To grasp knowledge of actual problematics of theory and praxis in architecture.
