Course content
Lectures: 1. Clarification of the terms textile stylistics, design, pattern, style and fashion trends. 2. - 3. History ofclothing and arts. 4. Clothing and arts during the industrial revolution. 5. Art Nouveau as an attempt at a unified style. 6. Art-deco. 7. - 10. Important personalities of the clothing creation of the 20th century. Exercises: 1. - 13. Within the subject a student works on given thesis. 14. Credit.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
Clarification of the terms textile stylistics, design, pattern, style and trends. History of clothing and arts. An explanation of the phenomenon of fashion, which is often considered accidental, irrational and beyond knowledge, but which, however, goes beyond the area of clothing creation and touches the style-making processes in the development of the other branches of design. Its connection with the wider development of visual arts and architecture. Personalities of clothing and textile creation of the 20th century. Textile design and pattern in the context of the history of clothing and arts. Creative activity (creativity, inspiration, innovation). Current trends in textile patterning, clothing design and decor.
