Course content
Lectures: 1. Common basics of jewellery and glass goods knowledge. 2. Jewellery and costume jewellery gemstones and similar components. 3. Jewellery beads, pendants and similar components. 4.- 5. Metal jewellery parts and components. 6. Final jewellery products. 7.- 8. Raw materials for glass production. Glass batch, glass charge, batch charging. Glass state. Glass colouring. Composition, structure and properties of glasses. 9. Glass parts and components for costume jewellery production. 10. Classification of materials, production and modification. Exercises: Analysis of individual components of goods categories. Working with practical examples.

Learning outcomes
General fundamentals of costume jewellery and glass goods knowledge. Terminology of costume jewellery components and products. Utility properties and methods of components using its individual types. Typical design applications of costume jewellery and jewellery components. Jewellery and costume jewellery gemstones, jewellery beads and pendants. Metal jewellery parts. Final jewellery products.

Professional knowledge acquired in previous studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written assignment, Test

Credit: active participation in seminars, passing tests during the study, final test (calculations), submission of semester work, participation in excursions.
