Course content
Lectures: 1. Design knitwear. Drafting suggestions. Resources and tools of designing knitwear. 2. Relationship of technology and structure. The formation and influence of weaves knitted fabrics. Knitting properties. 3. Technological principles of patterning. Distribtion of weaves knitted fabrics. Working with the pattern. 4. 8. Weft knitted structures (one face and two faces). 9. - 10. Color and plastic patterning of knitted fabrics. 11. Weft knitted structures (purl and interlock structure). 12. Connections for technological purposes. Flat and spatial shaping of knitwear. 13. Warp knitted structures. Model warp knitting. 14. Examples of PC programs for designers. Practice: 1. - 4. Determination of basic structural parameters of knitwear for designer needs. 5. - 7. Knitting on knitting machines, creation of basic and patterned knitwear. 8. - 9. Design and analysis of weaves of weft knitted fabrics. Differences in the production of basic and jacquard patterns. 10. - 12. Patterning of knitted fabrics. Using the material and machine parameters from the perspective of the knitwear designer. 13. Possibilities of modeling the binding as an art element. 14. Credit test. Preparation of five semester tasks (continuously).

Learning outcomes
Structure of knitted fabrics, basic structured elements. Knitted simulation. Properties of knitted fabrics and their influending. Weft-knitted structures, warp-knitted structures. Knitted pattern, possibilities of technology. Design of knitted fabrics. Computer aided knitted patterns.
Students improves theit knowlegede from the field of knitting fabrics and fabric design. They are able to create own fabric design.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of subject Knitting. Orientation in structure of knitting fabrics. Condition of registration: Exam from subject Knitting.
