The aim of the course is to connect the topics and problems of physical geography from a regional perspective. Core concepts, phenomena, processes and development trends in physical geography are discussed. Mutual causality and connections within individual components of the natural environment and between them are demonstrated through specific examples from individual geographical zones occurring on Earth. Selected natural processes and current risks are described in terms of their impact on society and with regard to the possibility of their elimination. Part of the course is conducted in English, while the key sources of literature are foreign scientific literature. Part of the course is also an active discussion of students with domestic or foreign scientific partners (eg through video conferencing).
