Course content

1. Introduction into geographical curricular education 2. History of curricular geographical education in model countries (USA, UK, Germany and others) 3. History of the Czech geographical curriculum 4. Czech geographical curriculum and transformation into school geographical curriculum 5. Using Internet (i.e. rvp.cz) 6. Geographical textbooks, Internet, whiteboard 7. Pedagogical preparation of geographical themes 8. Revision of curricular documents abroad and in the Czech Republic

Learning outcomes
|
The course is focused on geographical curriculum and geographical and pedagogical content. Students learn about geographical standards (American, British, German). They learn more about Czech curriculum and how to transform the Czech national curriculum into school curriculum. They create units.
Students are able to evaluate national geographical curriculum and Czech school geographical curriculum.

Basic geographical knowledge of comprehensive school and basic knowledge of physiography and human geography

Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Didactic test
Individual teaching and learning, preparation of geography units, oral examination
