Course content

Lectures: 1. Geographical reality: object and methods of geography. Social construction of geography. 2. Geographical ontology, episthemology and methodology (development of geographical thinking). 3. Theory, empiricism and application of geography. 4. Landscapes and regions, locuses, locales, localities. 5. Geography and relatives of science disipliny: inter/transdisciplinarity. 6. Geography in labour market in our country and abroad, tematization of geography. 7. Environmental application of geography (scenic ecosystems, environment, legislative, projects). 8. Regional application of geography (branch applications, developing strategy, programs and projects). 9. Application of geography in urban projects. 10. Application of geography in rural projects. 12. Changes in geographical education. 13. Community applied geography.

Learning outcomes
|
Thinking geographically means to understand how geographers study the world, appreciate why geography is so wide-ranging in the type of theories it has developed, how they adapted for knowledge production and understanding of the practice of geography in approaching a particular issue e.g. in sustainability, security, environment, etc.
