Course content
The conceptual model of cartography is linked to geographic education in the following topics in the form of delimitation of geography maps and cartography, and formulation of problems and tasks for reflection, possibilities of competitions and games based on maps and their use in class and field. 1. Conceptual basis of geography and cartography, content of general geographic and topographical maps 2. Displaying global contexts, globes and world maps 3. Regional maps, general geographic maps 4. Place, topography and topographic maps 5. Attributes of geographic objects, thematic maps 6. Analysis of thematic map, identification, composition, background, theme, context 7. Summary of Cartographic Concepts Preparing to work with maps using the GIT.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing)

Learning outcomes
Integration of geographic and cartographic conceptual bases.. Getting acquainted with key concepts of cartography (geometric basis of maps, cartographic imaging, cartometry, remote sensing of the Earth, generalization, symbolization) Practicing the skill of reading the contents of a topographic and general geographic map, differentiating the geographic and topographical basis of thematic map and mapping of thematic map from a cartographic point of view the information available. Getting acquainted with selected studies and articles from cartographic themes. Team management for field mapping.

knowledge of cartography and topography in grammar school range of geography

Assessment methods and criteria
Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio
