The aim of the course is to introduce students to political, social and cultural changes in South Asia. The emphasis is on a comparative perspective and inclusion of the latest international research. The teacher draws on his own many years of experience in research in the region. The seminars combine an explanatory part (including passages from professional texts, examples from documents and other sources) with time for discussion. Students will develop the ability to formulate stimulating problems of the selected topic and work out the connection of specific questions with theoretical anchoring.
