The subject builds on the general foundations of Didactics of Geography 1 and Didactics of Geography 2, and is based on the ideas of pedagogical constructivism. A general emphasis is placed on the development of skills associated with planning, leading and evaluating the teaching of geography. The specific goal is to familiarize students (future geography teachers) with selected modern teaching methods that lead to the development of: a) geographical thinking and overall interest in the subject of geography b) "21st century skills" (e.g. critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving) c) generally more demanding cognitive skills and required competencies
