Lectures: 1. Position of regional geography in system of scientific disciplines 2. Development of regional geography in world and in CR 3. Economical foundations of regional geography 4. Social and cultural dimension of regional geography 5. Regional knowledge and regional identity 6. Anatomy of geographical space, region, delimitation of regions 7. Classification and typology of regions, borders, theory of borders 8. Regions and political systems 9. Research methods in regional geography 10. Regionalisation and regional taxonomy 11. Diffusion in regional system 12. Analysis and synthesis in regional geography

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence

Learning outcomes
|
Subject is conserning physical, human and local geographies focusing on regional differentiation and individuality (world´s regions). Rather than description it is preferred regional relations, processes, patterns and their existence and operation in the world´s regions. Students investigated in seminars with information about regional issues and evaluations and present their results.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge in the range of lectures and for literature. Understanding the study of regions in the czech Republic and other countries; the use of statistical data, maps, satellite images - such as GoogleEarth, GIS. The importance of regional geography in public administration.

Written exam, Oral presentation of self-study
Accomplishment of practises, knowledge within the range of lectures and literature, written examination
