The subject follows on from the subject Society, culture and politics in modern times II. It is focused on a comprehensive analysis of selected key topics from the political, social, economic and cultural development of modern history, which are given attention within three teaching blocks. These topics will be followed over a wide period of time. Doctoral students study the prescribed literature for each block, or springs, and will also prepare the performance for the selected sub-aspect. The subject ends with a commission exam, during which the graduate's ability to interpret the discussed topics will be verified.
