Course content
1) Introduction - Olympic movement. Pre WWI Olympic games. 2) Olympic games in 1920 - 1932. 3) Germany and Olympic games 1920 - 1932, Berlin Olympic games. Cold War Olympic games (London, Helsinky, Melbourne). 4) Tokyo and Rome. Prague spring and Mexican autumn 1968. 5) Terorism in Munich 1972. 6) The boycot times 1976 - 1984. Last Olympic games of the 20th century (1988 - 2000). 7) Winter olympics of 1936. Winter Olympic games 1948 - 2000.

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing)

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces students to the phenomenon of sports in the 20th century
Students will become familiar with the phenomenon of political propaganda conducted through the film.
Prerequisites
Fulfilment of previous study obligations, knowledge of Czech, Czechoslovak and European history, culture and history.
