1. Introduction to statistics. Basic concepts - statistical data, statistical set, measurements and types of scales, possibilities of data acquisition in pedagogical research. 2. Descriptive statistics - basic concepts. Frequency, frequency distribution, statistical tables, graphical representation. 3. Position characteristics: arithmetic, weighted, harmonic, geometric mean. Median, modus, quantile. 4. Characteristics of variability: variance, standard deviation, coefficient of variation. 5. Characteristics of the shape of the distribution (skewness, skewness), box plot. 6. Statistical dependence of traits, correlation coefficient, graphical representation. 7. Use of Excel to process statistical data with respect to the topics of students' theses. 8. Mathematics in historical context. Historical problems and possibilities of their solution. 9. Algebragrams, Napier's bones, Diophantine equations. 10. Use of Origami to develop mathematical literacy in mathematics classes (Platonic solids, solving geometric problems, developing spatial imagination, use of manipulative activities). 11. Proofs in mathematics at the first level of primary school. 12. - 14. Presentation of students' seminar papers. The subject will focus on the practical use of knowledge from selected parts of mathematics with regard to the future profession of listeners. Attention will be focused mainly on topics that are not the content of other mathematical subjects, but whose mastery is advantageous for future teachers of elementary school. Semester work will be given during the semester. The results of these papers will be presented by the students. Their successful mastery will be a necessary condition for obtaining the credit.

Learning outcomes
|
The course is devoted to those parts of mathematics that appropriately complement the other mathematical disciplines of a given study. Attention will be focused primarily on topics whose mastery is advantageous for the future teacher of the first grade of primary school. All topics will be interpreted in terms of their possible application in the teaching of mathematics at primary school level 1. The introduction to the basic concepts of statistics will be focused on the topics of the students' theses.
A good orientation in secondary school mathematics from the point of view of the future teacher in elementary school.
