Course content
Lectures: 1. Analytical methods in testing of matter, technical standards 2. Qualitative analyses of fibers, short time identifications 3. Quantitative analyses of fiber mixtures, 2 or 3 component blends 4. Impurities in natural fibers 5. Impurities in synthetic fibers, industrial impurities 6. Cellulose - damage by chemicals I , identification of typical chemical groups 7. Cellulose - damage by chemicals I - hydrocellulose, degree of polymerization 8. Protein fibers - damage by chemicals, identification 9. Synthetic fibers - identification of chemical damage, changes in molecular structure 10. Dyestuff analyses - identification 11. Application properties of dyestuff - migration of dyes 12. Fastness - testing 13. Analyses of textile auxiliaries I - properties 14. Analyses of textile auxiliaries II - surface activity

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Laboratory work

Learning outcomes
The detection of chemical and other damages and quality differences in all main kinds of fibres. Analyses of admixtures, sizing and finishing agents on fibres. The estimation of the kinds and effects of auxilliary and finishing products. The identification of dyestuffs in substance and on the fibre. Levelling and other colouristic tests. Colour fastness.
Knowledge lectured subject - theoretically and practically.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of chemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination

The credit: Finishing on all laboratory exercises. Elaborate and defence laboratory records. Finishing on knowledge test over fix limit of point figure. The examination: be composed of written and vive part.
