Learning outcomes
The Sensorial Textile Materials course should consider the requirements of today's modern textile industry by showing students a new perspective on how to provide better functionality and added value through the application and implementation of sensorial systems. This is either with an embedded electronic system or with a system based on dye-sensitised organic structures, with consideration of the comfort of such a textile structure embedded in the garment parts of a functional garment. The added value is determined by the ability of such a textile structure in monitoring the state of the environment where the smart textile structure is used. By completing the course, the student will gain a deeper understanding of the principles of manufacturing and application of advanced materials in the field of sensory textiles and garments with applied environmental monitoring systems.
