Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation, briefing), Laboratory work
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The special fibers will be divided to the categories of high-technical fibers (high strength, high modulus, thermal resistance, chemical resistance) and category of high functional fibers (thermal insulation, super-absorbency, non-flammability, etc.). The basic characteristics of both kinds of fibers will be described. The mechanical, physical, chemical and special properties will be reviewed. Some technological peculiarities influencing the structure of fibers will be discussed.
Theoretical and practical knowledge dealing with content of lectures and excercises
Prerequisites
Any one

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student's performance analysis

Credit: participation in all laboratory courses, two successfully passed tests. Exam: written
