Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation, briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Lecture, Practicum
  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 42 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course, following the course Statics of Building Structures 1, is to familiarize students with the basics of elasticity and strength, with the buckling pressure of slender bars and with the basics of designing elements of load-bearing structures.
1. Student applies a systematic approach to the design and assessment of load-bearing structural elements in architectural structures. 2. Student critically evaluates structural solutions in terms of strength and stability. 3. Student communicates clearly technical results and professional conclusions within the framework of teamwork and public presentations. 4. Student is prepared to adapt theoretical knowledge to practical tasks in an architectural and construction context.
Prerequisites
Successful previous completion of the course STA1
KNK/STA1
