Course content
ectures: 1. Concept of lectures. The position of textiles in the globalized world. 2. Influence of globalization on textile and clothing industry. Analysis of the position and possibilities of the textile and clothing industry in the Czech Republic. 3. Fundamentals of international trade. 4. Branding. 5. Definition of managerial work, fundamentals of managerial thinking and practice. Management objectives. Managerial decision making. 6. Problems of clothing trade, creation of production and trade relations. 7. Outsourcing production of clothing and clothing, price policy. 8. Input and base materials for outsourcing production. Identification of required parameters and properties of clothing materials for clothing production. 9. Modification of technical and technological preparation of production in outsourcing production. 10. Management and control of outsourcing production, overview of the subject matter. Exercises: The exercise program is a follow-up to the lectures. In the exercises, students process and present partial tasks, individually or in small groups. Thematically, the seminars focus on outsourcing in clothing production, branding and copyright in clothing, the impact of globalization on clothing production in the EU.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the basics of managerial thinking, strategic planning, decision making and other activities, including their practical response in organizing clothing trade and outsourcing production. Students will learn to analyze existing processes in the globalized market. They will be also acquainted with the possibilities of production and business relations creation, clothing production outsourcing, technical and technological preparation of production, importance of trade marks, branding and brand counterfeiting of clothing.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination, Oral exam, Test

Credit: Active participation in seminars, passing tests during the study, presentation, seminar work. Examination: written essay on the questions from the subject matter, oral answer and confirmation of knowledge from the questions submitted.
