Course content
Structure: 1. Small and medium enterprises - introduction, literature, target 2. Law aspects of undertaking 3. Decision about own business establishment 4. Market aspects of SMEs, Strategy of undertaking on the EU market 5. Research, development and new technologies on the EU market and SMEs 6. - 7. Operational aspects of undertaking 8. - 11. Economical aspects of undertaking 12. Financial management 13. Final conclusion (undertaking design, ecology, likvidation)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Individual consultation

Learning outcomes
The Aim of this subject is to describe the development of the Czech private business and inform the students about specific qualities of the SMEs in the area: Foundation and start of business and production; Choice of legal forms of business; Organizational structures and division of labour; Property and capital structure of SMEs; and further activities of managing and financing SMEs.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Combined examination, Written exam, Presentation of acquired knowledge via paper

To get a credit: - 80% active participation in seminars in case of full-time study, in the case of combined form of study, at least 50% of attendance at joint meetings; - Successful defence of the given semester-project. Exam: - Written test, mark can be influenced by the results of seminar tasks.
